A structured and educational class for 8-16 year olds, focused on advancing and improving students’ skill and technique across various mediums, themes and material. Mediums will range from painting with water-based paints, drawing with charcoal and pencil, collage and sculpture using papier mache and paper. Themes will be centred around nature, people, animals and objects, combining both outer surroundings and imagination. The course should result in a body of work suitable to incorporate into students’ academic art occupations, with noticeable improvement and development of ability. Perfect for those with an extended interest in art who would like an education in technique, which will allow them to confidently progress with whichever medium and subject matter they would like to practice.

The course is a progressive structure, held over 4 weeks, exploring new mediums each week while focusing more consistently on the subject matter. Each class will begin with a welcome, explanation and a demonstration of techniques focused on for that class, students will then work on their projects, with guided, individual support and group instruction. The projects students work on will be produced over the duration of the course and will result in at least 2 completed pieces by the final class.

The workshop will be taught by Agata Di Masternak, a qualified, practicing artist and WLAF resident. Agata has a BA in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins and a Masters in Painting from Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where she also undertook a teacher training course. She has had experience teaching children at Little Hands Design and tutors privately, offering both creative and more educational tutoring in art across all academic levels.
WLAF is DBS checked and certified.
Classes are held every Saturday 1 - 3pm from 2nd - 23rd June, please note this is a course of progressive lessons, not a drop-in class.
