Catalyst - Inspiring Arts Ideas for Teachers is a series of eight arts based teacher inspiration days running across the 2009/10 academic year.
Each training day is held in the setting of a stunning cultural venue. At the day teachers work with professional artists to focus on interactive and innovative teaching ideas for Key Stage 2. The Catalyst day works with three art forms from poetry, visual arts, drama, storytelling, dance or music. There are a maximum of 30 places available on each training day.
At the end of the day each participant takes the 120 page Catalyst -Inspiring Arts Ideas for Teachers resource book away with them which provides a lasting resource and contains sixty arts teaching activities.
The Catalyst days will take place on:
19 October 2009 - Towneley Hall, Burnley
27 November 2009 - New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester
26 February 2010 - Belfast Castle
09 March 2010 - Foundling Museum, London
10 March 2010 - Hastings Museum & Art Gallery
19 March 2010 - Leeds Arts Gellery
04 June 2010 - Bodelwyddan Castle
02 July 2010 - Saltram, Plymouth.
Thanks to generous funding from the Maaike McInnes Charitable Trust each Catalyst day costs only £45 per place
