Children & the Arts

Children who have the opportunity to witness an inspiring performance, or stand in front of a wonderful painting, or to meet a writer or a musician, sometimes realize that they can find themselves in a world with extra dimensions - a world that is bigger, richer and endlessly stimulating. Classic FM Arts & Kids Week

The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts and Classic FM bring you Classic FM Arts & Kids Week every autumn half term.  Hundreds of events are staged in cultural venues around the country for children and their families during the week and we aim to allow as many people as possible to take part in what’s going on near them.

Classic FM Arts & Kids Week is the perfect opportunity to involve your children  in the full spectrum of the arts right on your doorstep. By visiting www.childrenandarts.org.uk/events  you can find out about the variety of art events taking place in your local area, from plays to painting, storytelling and music workshops to film making. Unleash your creativity and get involved this half term!

To find an event near you then visit our events page, which also runs thruoghout the year. During Arts & Kids week itself you can tune in to Classic FM (100-102 FM) or visit classicfm.com for more information.

Arts & Kids Week has finished for 2009 - Keep yuor eyes on this page for updates on Classic FM Arts & Kids Week 2010.

As a schoolboy said not long ago: Shakespeare looks boring but when you’re in it, it’s fun.  Much the same is true of a great deal of the arts, which is why everything that Children & the Arts does - and Arts &Kids Week in particular - is so important.  Introducing young people to the arts is introducing them to something that they can understand once they’re immersed in it.  And the life rewards are enormous.
