Music Education in England
This month heralded the release of the coalition Government’s first move into cultural education policy with Darren Henley’s Review of Music Education in England.
With the publication release date delayed in order to coincide with the Government’s response, it certainly seems like music education has caught the attention of the new leadership. It remains to be seen however if the government’s good intentions, laid out by Messrs Gove and Vaisey, will translate into much-needed action. We will certainly watch developments with keen interest as this electoral term develops.
In the meantime you can see what our Chief Executive, Jeremy Newton made of the the review on our In Focus blog.
