Be a part of Start

Through Start we aim to inspire future generations to engage with our rich cultural heritage. To do this, we look to support between 8 and 10 arts organisations each year in creating strong, long-term relationships with local schools.

Start projects offer children a chance to engage with the very best of the arts, give them a chance to get to know their local venue and to develop their own artistic understanding.

Start has four key aims:

The Start programme is now closed for applications and will reopen in December 2012.

The Start programme is funds education work introducing young people to arts venues, building sustainable relationships between venues and schools over a period of three years.

Please visit our Start page for more information about the project, or download last year’s Application Guidelines and Application Form below for an indication of what to expect when applications reopen.
