Tickets for Children & the Arts’s Christmas Carol Concert on sale now
Children & the Arts is hosting a Christmas carol concert on Wednesday 10th December from 7-8.15pm at St James’s Church, Piccadilly, in London.
The full line up is now confirmed. Music from Children & the Arts Ambassador Alfie Boe and Offical Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales, Clare Jones, will be interspersed with carols from Collegium Musicum of London and two London school choirs - Queen’s Gate Junior School and Thomas’s School, Clapham. There will also be seasonal readings from Zoë Wanamaker, Don Warrington and Pauline Collins and carols for the whole congregation to sing. Penelope Keith will also make an appeal on behalf of the charity.
At last year’s concert, the church was packed with friends, celebrities, and enthusiasts of the charity who came from far and wide to show their support for Children & the Arts. They were treated to seasonal readings and songs by guests including Rowan Atkinson, Jeremy Irons and group Blake.
The magnificent Church of St James’s, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, provides a fitting setting for the concert, with its long tradition of involvement in the arts. Amongst other claims, the church is able to boast that poet and artist William Blake was baptised there and the church has long been hailed as a concert venue attracting a wide range of artists from Handel to REM.
Thanks to the concert’s sponsor, Bank of America, all ticket sales will go directly towards supporting Children & the Arts’s work helping children to experience the arts in a high quality and sustained way.
