How do find out what events for children are taking place near me?
Visit our ‘Events for Children‘ page, type in your postcode and click enter. The search will pull up events taking place within a 10 mile radius. You can widen your search, for example you could search for events for 5-7 and 7-11 years within a 20 mile radius if you choose.

How can I find dance/theatre/music classes for my child to take part in?
Visit our ‘Events for Children‘ page and click on advanced search. Type in your postcode and the age range you would like to search and then click on the artform you would like to search (i.e. dance).

You can also try contacting your local council or artform specific organisations such as the Council for Dance Education and Training or visit sites such as the BBC’s music learning pages. Have a look at our ‘helpful links’ pages for more ideas.

How do I find out more about your funding?
Children & the Arts runs a programme called Start. Through Start, Children & the Arts works in partnership with arts organisations around the UK to engage with schools and young people, encouraging them to visit their local arts venue. The programme opens for applications once a year and the application guidelines and application form will be available on our website at that time. The programme usually opens for applications in December for projects taking place in the next academic year. The programme is specifically targeted towards supporting arts organisations.

Do you support individuals?
We do not provide funding for individuals.

Do you support schools?
We do not fund schools directly. If a school would like to be involved in the Start programme we would recommend that they speak to their local arts venue and encourage them to apply to the programme.

Do you support arts organisations that are not also arts venues?
We do support arts organisations that do not have a venue (i.e. touring companies) as long as their project meets the Start programme guidelines.

Where can I find out more information about your organisation?
Visit the ‘About Us’ section of our website. To find out more about our projects visit the ‘about us‘ section of the website

Do you support arts organisations based outside of the UK?
We only support organisations based within the UK
