We are excited to announce that the 2013 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, which features our record breaking Face Britain project is out on 13th September!

Congratulations to everyone who helped to break the world record of ‘most artists working on a single art installation’ you can now see the result your efforts officially printed in the new edition of the Guinness World Records.

An amazing 201,948 self portraits were contributed by children all across the country. These portraits helped to form a gigantic montage which was projected on to Buckingham Palace in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

This new record far outstrips the previous record for most artists working on the same art installation, set in 2009 in Tel Aviv, which had 28,267 contributors.

Only 261 new records have been ratified this year out of the 7,896 applications, well done to all those who helped us to become one of the few new record breakers!

This would not have been possible without the overwhelming response from children and young people in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
