Children & the Arts partner with pre-school prize
Nick Jr. has launched a nationwide initiative to get pre-schoolers exploring, which offers nurseries the chance to win a grant of up to £20,000.
Nick Jr., Nickelodeon’s leading pre-school channel, has released the Help Dora Help Activity Pack and Award Fund to give nurseries and pre-schools free curriculum linked activity resources and the opportunity to apply for grants from an award fund.
Supported by the Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts, the Help Dora Help initiative has been created to bring exploration to life in pre-schools and nurseries. The curriculum linked Help Dora Help Activity Pack supports the early years’ development goals and provides fun, motivational and stimulating learning opportunities which use Dora the Explorer’s adventures as a theme. The Help Dora Help Award Fund invites pre-schools and nurseries to apply for educational and learning support which includes funds of up to £20,000, discovery and learning equipment and the opportunity to be featured on Nick Jr.
To apply, pre-schools are asked to use Dora the Explorer’s iconic backpack, which encourages children to be inspired by exploration by filling it with items for a fun adventure with Dora. Children will learn about different Dora adventures including travelling the world, swimming under the sea and shooting into space, and will be encouraged to think about what they would need to take on their chosen adventure with Dora. Once completed pre-schools can send in their entries or upload a photo of their entry to the Nick Jr. website along with their Award Fund applications.
