Face Britain Project Announced!

Letters were recieved today by schools across the UK announcing Children & the Arts’ latest project: Face Britain, which will be taking place in the coming academic year.

Face Britain is a nationwide arts participation project running between September 2011-March 2012. The aim is to encourage every child and young person aged 4-16 years is invited to create a self portrait in any style they wish and upload it to the special Face Britain online gallery. The project is open to all young people regardless of circumstance, drawing or learning ability.

Face Britain will celebrate the nation’s children and young people in the lead up to HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012. The project is part of the Olympic Cultural Festival and has the active support of HRH The Prince of Wales.

Everyone taking part in Face Britain will help to break the Guinness World Record for ‘most artists working on the same art installation’.
