Camilla Kerslake becomes an Ambassador
We are delighted to announce that Classical Brit Award nominee Camilla Kerslake has become an Ambassador of The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts.
With her rare and beautiful coloratura soprano voice Camilla Kerslake has captured the hearts of the nation. Camilla’s story is one of fairytales. After two years at Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music, Camilla recorded her own versions of ‘Pie Jesu’ and ‘Ave Maria’, which she dropped off almost daily at recording studios where Gary Barlow and his Take That colleagues were working. After four weeks Gary finally relented, listened and signed her to his new record label.
Camilla has already supported Children & the Arts by performing at our carol concert in December 2009 and performed in front of Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and their guests at a joint charities dinner at Buckingham Palace in February 2010.
