Start partner applications for 2008/2009 are now closed. The deadline for all applications was 5pm Wednesday 16th January. Under no circumstances will Children & the Arts accept late applications.

Processing of applications is now underway and all appplicants who have been short listed for Stage Two  will be informed in early February.  

Stage Two requires you to complete a more detailed proposal with full information about your programme, how you will deliver it and who will be involved. The Stage Two applications will be assessed by an independent panel of which each member has an education and/or arts background. The panel will select a diverse offering of art forms across the UK and lend impartiality, knowledge and experience to the selection process.

Children & the Arts Start programme provides funding and support for cultural organisations to develop and deliver arts enrichment programmes for primary and secondary school students. Through Start, students that would not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with their local cultural venue, will attend at least two professional performances, concerts or exhibitions as well as taking part in enrichment programme based around these experiences.
