Start 2007/08

Children & the Arts Start programme provides funding and support for cultural organisations to develop and deliver arts enrichment programmes for primary and secondary school students.
Through Start, students that would not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with their local cultural venue, will attend at least two professional performances, concerts or exhibitions as well as taking part in enrichment programme based around these experiences.
The overall programme aims to encourage students to develop the confidence and enthusiasm to continue their involvement with their local cultural venue.
During the 2007/08 academic year, Start will allow 35 arts organisations in the UK to work with over 17, 300 children.
